The Cultist guild has a long and treacherous history. Originally it was created by some of the Lesser Demons, to enslave and use mortal folk for their demonic desires. This plan backfired when the mortals became so powerful, that they infact became the masters, enslaving powerful demons to their cause. This was stopped when the Greater Demons of Sin learned of this betrayal and stepped in to amend the situation. The old patrons were killed, and the Greater Demons usurped them, bringing discipline and power to the Cultists. For the Greater Demons, the guild proved a valuable source of enrollment in the army of darkness, whilst for the Cultists it meant a new age of power, though a more subservient standing. The Cultists are masters of dark magic, drawing upon the power of a selected deadly patron (The Great Demons of the Seven Sins) and ultimately upon the power of the Demons master - Varkyll-an-bluge. Cultists are the dark priests of the Doom Bringer, constantly warring against the light. They show their obedience and dedication to the patrons by collecting and devouring sacrificial hearts, torn, still beating, from the dying bodies of their victims. Cultists also possess the amazing ability to summon demons, and to bargain with them, often receiving assistance and blessings from these foul infernal creatures.
