Description: Long ago, during the early days of his imprisonment in the Retroverse, as Armagg-Odhin was first testing the limits of the seemingly tireless reconstruction performed by the Creators, he sought to imitate the Creators' patterns. His hope was that he might find a weakness by which to put an end to their powers in order to bring about the collapse of the Retroactive Universe once and for all. To this end, he selected two great kings and set them to battle with one another, each with twenty lesser kings as their entourage, and each of those with their own retainers of knights and peasant soldiers. They set about the work of destruction amongst themselves, just as Armagg-Odhin had been doing with the universe, but following the Creators' pattern, Armagg-Odhin cursed these kings and their men to always arise from death at the end of each day, so that on the morrow, their battle could begin anew. This struggle went on for some time, and many tried and failed to intervene and end the conflict. This was, however, until a certain paladin of certain stature came and began to slay the warriors, laying their corpses to rest. The paladin was ultimately killed before he could finish his mission, but for reasons the gods could not fathom, his efforts caused the curse to fail. Every warrior he laid to rest remained at rest and did not rise to do battle again. It is said that the example of this paladin was what caused Armagg-Odhin to found the Jomsvikings, a group first formed from the survivors of this great conflict. These were agents of destruction whose chaos and unpredictable patterns of devastation, it was hoped, might somehow, someday, do by chance for the universe what the paladin's intervention had done for the warring kings. Perhaps these wild mortals might provide the unknown spark that would break the Creators' spells and end the imprisonment of the gods once and for all. To this day, the Jomsvikings retain a portion of the old curse left by Armagg-Odhin on the warring kings, and with training in this skill, they may still, at times unknowable, spring back to life upon falling in battle, rising to continue his work once more.
