Description:
The square formation is a totally defensive posture with the front line made up of a shield wall. Generally used to hold a position in the face of an enemy assault instead of attempting to gain ground. Any bonus while using this formation is gained through use of a shield therefore the assault capabilities of the warrior are somewhat diminished. Any warrior in the front ranks that doesn't have training in this skill reduces the effectiveness of the square formation as it means there is a weakness in the shield wall the party is trying to maintain.
Note: This formation cannot be used with the dodge defense style.
