Description: A mysterious race of powerful spell casters, the naga are large, serpent-like creatures, sometimes reaching as much as twenty feet in length. They have humanoid heads atop their otherwise serpentine bodies, but even their faces are marked by snakelike eyes and venomous fangs. Solitary creatures, most naga are said to almost never socialize with their own kind, except during the infrequent, decade-long breeding phases of their thousand year reproductive cycles. They are most often found living in caves, swamps or along the banks of large rivers, where they subsist primarily on live spiders and are known to use their power over the local weather to maintain their privacy, producing fog, rain, floods or drought as needed to prevent discovery and discourage the development of long-term civilization in their vicinity. Despite this trend, some isolated villages have been able to establish themselves in a naga's domain, either by performing rituals to venerate and appease the naga, or else sustained on a whim by the naga's personal benevolence. Those that are permitted to remain find themselves blessed with supernaturally ideal weather and fertile land, providing bountiful prosperity, but at the same time, as a rule, they remain forever small and become increasingly cutoff from the outside world, sometimes being entirely forgotten.
