Using skills

Skills are the normal and heroic feats that people achieve without
the assistance of magic. Using a skill requires you to use some endurance
points (except for certain races which are telekinetic and use spell points
instead). You can find out the endurance cost for a skill by typing
'help skill '. For example, 'help skill camping'. If you do not have
enough endurance points, you will be unable to use the skill.

To use a skill, you must have some proficiency in it. You gain in
proficiency by training the skill in the training hall for your guild. For
more information on what skills are offered by your guild and how to train
in them, read the guild book which is located in your guild. The higher
your
proficiency in the skill, the better the chance that you will succeed when
trying to use it.

Most skills require that you use them to have any effect (HELP USE).
Some skills are automatically in effect and do not need to be used. To
determine whether the skill needs to be used, read the help for the skill.

Your proficiency in your skills is also affected by the bulk of your
guild and the bulk of any armours you are wearing (HELP BULK).
