Remort race

Remort races are those races which cannot be joined when a player
starts playing on RetroMUD. Instead, once a character has reached
level 100 and completed a special quest, that character will have
the opportunity to "remort" into one of these special races.

The races represent the various metaraces of the Retroverse,
and there are also remort races which have no kinship to any
metarace. Each race is stronger than an average non-remort
race; as a result, each remort race will thus have a
correspondingly low exp rate in exchange for having more
advantages and not having some of the weaknesses that regular
races carry.

Some important notes for people wishing to take a remort race:

1) YOU MUST BE LEVEL 100 TO QUALIFY FOR A REMORT RACE. You can not
complete the associated quest and remort until you have reached
level 100.

2) YOU WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO TAKE REGULAR RACES ON FUTURE
REINCS. Sorry, but because of the process required to become a
remort race, you will no longer to be a human or xodar or any other
regular race. You will, however, be able to take ascended versions
of those races (help ascended races).

3) YOU WILL BE ABLE TO REINC AFTER REMORTING. The same rules apply
to people who wish to reincarnate, regardless of their choice to
remort or not remort. The difference is that people reincing from
a remort race will only be able to choose a remort race, and people
who reinc from a regular race will only be able to reinc into a
regular race.

4) THE SAME GUILD CHOICES, WISHES, PATHS, ETC ARE STILL AVAILABLE
TO YOU. What we envision here is that folks who have reached level
100, at least in theory, enjoy the challenge of 'making the numbers
go up' but know the game well enough to appreciate the tradeoff of
better racial boosts in exchange for a lower exp rate. (This does
not mean in the future that there might not be special code put
in-game for remort races, but you will not be limited in your
choices because of remort status.)

5) THERE IS A BUILT-IN ADVANTAGE. While your exp rate is lower as
a remort race, you automatically get the benefits of the 'stats
max' wish as part of any remort race you choose.

6) THERE IS AN ADDITIONAL AUTOLOADING EQ SLOT FOR REMORT RACES.
Yes, it's true! Every remort race gets a token that autoloads.
A remort race character can sacrifice a piece of equipment to
get that equipment's stats put into the autoloading token.
This will destroy the piece of equipment, so be sure of
what you want to imbue into the token before choosing what
piece to sacrifice.

7) YOU WILL BE ABLE TO PLAY THE GAME WITH YOUR NON-REMORT FRIENDS.
We have purposely not placed any limitations on who
can party with whom because we recognize that not all players will
want to take the remort option.
However:

8) YOU WILL EXCHANGE MOST OF YOUR EXPERIENCE FOR THE REMORT RACE
UPON COMPLETING THE REMORT QUEST. A player who completes the
remort race option will essentially be starting over from an
experience point basis. In exchange for becoming a remort race,
every player needs to complete the remort quest and exchange most
exp points. Each character, upon becoming a remort race for the
first time, will receive 100k free-reinc exp and will start at
level 4. So plan to start near the beginning if you choose to
complete the remort quest.

9) THE FINAL STAGE OF THE REMORT QUEST WILL LEAD DIRECTLY TO
CONVERTING TO A REMORT RACE. Make sure that when you complete the
quest that you have chested your gear, as you will go through a
reincarnation to become a remort race. (There will be an
opportunity to chest before completing the remort quest).

10) THE REMORT QUEST IS ONLY REQUIRED ONCE TO BECOME A REMORT RACE.
Once a character has completed the remort quest and become a
remort race, there is no need to complete the quest again for
oneself. However, anyone can participate in helping friends
complete the quest.
