Kizanki:

Before the Paladins and Templars began trying to convert it, Perdow was
seen by the Welstarians only as a place of sure death. It was a dumping
ground for the worst criminals of Welstar, who were meant to live short,
painful lives after being transported there.

Unfortunately, some of the criminals found the dark forces of Perdow to
be friendly, and survived by serving them to become the Kizanki. In time
they mastered the forces and created an army of their own intelligent
biological constructs, the Thuuls, to wreak revenge on their exilers.

The Thuuls, however, were too independent, and many were able to break
free of Kizanki control, and many have joined the side of Light.
