Elemental balance

Whenever something inflicts damage, be it through a spell, through
the damage type of a weapon, or through the damage type of a
monster, it is checked against the balance of elemental damage
types.

If more damage was done with opposing elements, it gains a bonus to
damage done, making it do greater damage.

If that damage type's elements are overbalanced, it will do less damage
than it should.

The following damage types impact the elements:

                  (Geo)
                  EARTH
                    -
                   / \
                  / \
                 / \
         (Toxi) / \ (Corrosion)
               / \
              / \
             / \
(Cryo) WATER< > FIRE (Pyro)
             \ /
              \ /
               \ /
       (Asphyx) \ / (Illus)
                 \ /
                  \ /
                   \ /
                    -
                   AIR
                (Electro)

NOTE: Affecting an element does not just affect that element. When the
balance is shifted away from AIR toward EARTH, that affects all elements
tied to that axis, including everything except ice and fire. Some damage
types are affected more than others -- for example, the use of fire impacts
the FIRE element more than acid, which is considered both a FIRE and EARTH
element.

Example: if there is preponderance of asphyxiation spells being used on
the MUD, FIRE and EARTH would increase in power, while AIR and WATER
would decrease. Since asphyxiation is across two elements, it would
take twice as many asphyxiation spells to impact either element as it
would for cold damage to change the effectiveness of the WATER element,
or for electrical damage to change the effectiveness of the AIR element.

Physical, Harm, Psionic, and Sonic are not affected.

The damage modification is from 60% to 120% of normal damage done, but
will *not* show up in help spell .
