Cheating

Cheating constitutes anything that is outside the normal rules of
RetroMUD. Ignorance will only get you so far - a newbie of 10th
level who didn't know monsters aren't supposed to give out ten
thousand gold pieces when it dies may be excused, but a fortieth
level player won't be. This includes but is not limited to:

*Using a script to repeat an action ad infinitum.

*Utilizing knowledge from a wizard friend that you shouldn't know.

*Having a wizard friend assist you in any way.

*Asking wizards game-related questions such as "How hard is X", "What does
NPC Y do", "What are stats do item Z have/where is it", etc. Information
about the game is to be found out on your own and from other players, NOT
wizards.

*Taking advantage of unreported bugs, or, using a bug after it's
reported - simply because we haven't fixed it yet doesn't mean you
should take advantage of it.

*Distributing information which helps you cheat. This often leads
to banishment of an entire site.

Cheating is routinely remedied by the following:

1) You will be "force-reincarnated", forcing you to reincarnate
with subsequent loss of experience points and cash.

2) You will be nuked (removed).

3) Your entire site will be banished.

Cheating is a self-destructive process, often practiced by
people who like to play a different sort of game wherein they
try to see how much they can get away with. RetroMUD does
not play that game. We do not want players who don't really
want to play but want the thrill of "living on the edge", and
the risk of getting caught. Cheating is considered a personal
attack upon RetroMUD, and it is taken very seriously. In
essence, you are attempting to destroy what we have created for
YOUR enjoyment. Understandably, both player and wizard should
rightly be furious at such actions - a wizard because you have
thrown all his hard work out the window, and a player because
you are destroying the fun of other players by abusing a system.
Although we do not believe in collective measures of punishment,
cheating can often become so rampant that it requires such
retaliation.

Players who are force reincarnated for any offense are not allowed
to donate for THREE MONTHS.

In sum: Cheating - don't do it.
