Trigger, n. 
(1) Client feature that allows a user to automatically send commands to a
MUD in response to events. Often illegal on combat oriented games because
it gives those with it a large advantage. 
(2) Any action that initiates an automated game response. Most often the
term is used in conjunction with unusual or special responses.
