tick--An expression used to explain the recovery of any hit points, spell
points, or endurance points that will most likely occur in gameplay.  May
also be referred to as heartbeat (i.e. hb) as well [help heartbeat].  Real
time differences between those listed are known as 'speed of regen.'
Though regeneration via natural matabolism and through gear are similar,
they occur at different rates.  Natural heartbeat varies while
equipment has a constant baseline.
