On RetroMUD, characters get hungry. This includes both food and drink
combined.  You don't have to drink anything and there is no separate thirst
system.
Eating is usually a simple matter.  However, there is a wide variety of
diet types to choose from.  You can only eat foods that are within your
diet (HELP DIET).  
There are a few other ways to eat food, by using race powers (HELP FEAST,
HELP SUCK), skills, or spells.  However, food is the most common means of
satiating yourself.  Failure to eat can result in starvation (HELP
STARVATION).
