There are many channels available for communications. Most of them
are self explanatory, but some are more esoteric.  Though most of
them aren't restricted to their focus, general etiquette dictates
being accommodating. Channels listed as (IC) should be limited to
In character conversations.  The first channels you usually
encounter are mentor, the specific guild channels, and retro.

    mentor
    ------
    Main channel for basic help.  Used for asking questions related to
    how RetroMUD works.  This is a great channel for new players that
    have questions about the game.  You are not allowed to give false
    advice, be sarcastic, rude, or mean on this channel.

    guild channels

     help, for more information on using them. (i.e. mage help)
    These get you in contact with others who are in your guild. They are
    great resources for learning the ins and outs of your guild.

    retro
    -----
    This is the main channel for talking about almost anything in game,
    and sometimes things not in game.

    As the name indicates.  This is mostly an OOC channel.

    A channel for the goings on in retro.  Usually used for seeing players
    logging in, logging off, going linkdead and other assorted game info.

    A general wanting to buy, wanting to sell, wanting to trade channel.

    seekchat

    A place for those looking to join up with others to form a party.

    party

    remortal
    --------
    A channel for remortals use exclusively.

The channels below are used for very specific content:

    animechat
    ---------
    Used when discussing animated films, mangas, tv shows, books, comics
    ect.  This is an additional chat channel.  To help keep possible
    spoilers and specific discussions off the main chat channel.

    arena
    -----
    Used for CTF, see help ctf.  A separate channel to talk with fellow
    challengers.  The Flag Guardian will also announce messages over this
    channel.

    fflchat
    -------
    Used to discuss fantasy sports.  Generally the American football.
    However most sports are discussed here also.   This is an additional
    chat channel.  To help keep specific discussions off the main chat
    channel.

    gamerchat
    ---------
    Used to discuss any other game that is not RetroMUD or mud related.
    Including but not limited to video, board, card, dice, role-playing
    ect type games. This is an additional chat channel.  To help keep
    possible spoilers and specific discussions off the main chat channel.

    genechat
    --------
    Created for Genevieve because she is our wonderful mother that loves
    to chit chat!  This channel is generally used when gene has a good
    story to tell.  Players tend to also tell good Real Life stories here
    as well, or just general discussion.

    politics
    --------
    Used to discuss political issues.  This can be somewhat of a broad
    topic.  Pertaining events, people, news, history ect.  This is an
    additional chat channel.  To help keep specific discussions off the
    main chat channel.
