Newbie Advantages

General Advantages
------------------
The following advantages are generic, available to all newbies regardless
of level.

1. Dues bypass:  New characters are not required to collect guild dues in
order to advance past level 15.  This advantage is lost upon reincarnation.

2. Racially maxed training:  Characters gain full training in their guild
skills and spells up through their starting level.  New characters start at
level 10, while reincarnated characters start at level 4.

3. Reduced training cost:  Characters under level 21 have some gold costs
waived for training abilities in their primary guild.  Skills and spells
from level 1-9 may be "freemaxed" with no gold cost to 80%, level 10-14
abilities to 75%, and level 15-20 abilities to 65%.


Scaling Advantages
------------------
The following advantages are reduced as a character gains levels, and are
eliminated completely after a certain level.

This bonus is eliminated at level 20.
1. Expanded outerworld map:  Characters gain +10 to their map radius.

2. Combat bonuses:  Characters gain an enhancement to their combat
abilities that is eliminated at level 16.  Monk characters gain an
enhancement to their martial arts wc that is eliminated at level 18.


Advantages Lost at Level 13
---------------------------
1. Characters are not attacked by risen undead.
2. Characters are not attacked by clones of players over level 13.


Advantages Lost at Level 14
---------------------------
1. Characters take minimal damage for being digested by an Infinity Pod.
2. Characters remain drunk for a shorter period of time.


Advantages Lost at Level 15
---------------------------
1. Characters may not be affected by banishment effects.
2. Characters automatically avoid trap damage.


Advantages Lost at Level 16
---------------------------
1. Dead characters appear in the Newbie Judgement Fields.
2. Characters may not directly attack NPCs that are too powerful for them.
3. Characters may not be directly attacked by aggressive NPCs.
   * Some powerful NPCs are unaffected by this restriction.
   * Some NPCs may still use combat starter skills if you stay
     near them too long.
   * Some NPCs may attack certain pets, and some pets will
     attack some npcs.
4. Characters may not be affected by curses.
5. Characters may use the adv-guild exits of guilds they do not belong to.
6. Characters may use a Guide NPC for assistance.
7. Characters may access Charity Houses to obtain cheap equipment.

a. Bard characters do not lose bard points for fleeing combat using wimpy.
b. Fallen characters do not spend power points for skills and spells.
c. Paladin characters do not spend honor points for skills and spells.
   * This bonus is lost if the power/honor stored is enough for level 20.


Advantages Lost at Level 17
---------------------------
1. Characters are not attacked for wielding weapons.
2. Characters are not attacked for casting offensive spells.
3. Characters are not attacked for having negative charisma.
4. Characters do not lose hunger for movement.
5. Characters may ride for free on the skyship and falcon routes of Raji.
   * The skyship connects Nineveh, Nimbus, and Suthnas.
   * The falcon connects Nineveh and Sco'land.
6. Characters are always able to see in a room, regardless of light level.


Advantages Lost at Level 18
---------------------------
1. Dead characters do not gain scars when returning to life.
2. Dead characters do not lose stats or training when returning to life.
   * A larger number of scars increases the chance of this outcome.
3. Characters do not drop or damage their weapons during combat.
4. Characters do not lose spell points to sustain a light/darkness orb.


Advantages Lost at Level 19
---------------------------
1. Characters do not lose endurance points for walking.
2. Characters do not lose spell points for magical flight.
3. Characters do not gain slayer status.
4. Characters are not charged fees for bank transactions.
5. Characters may not be affected by diseases.
6. Characters may not be stolen from by NPCs who use charm or theft.
7. Characters can follow their party leader even if they are blind.
8. Characters can use newbie world transport systems to travel.
9. Characters may be summoned by the "party newbie summon" command.


Advantages Lost at Level 20
---------------------------
 1. Dead characters may return to life in any room of the Judgement Fields.
    * Characters will be required to find the correct temple at this point.
 2. Characters receive an auto-loading equipment set. (newbie-eq)
 3. Characters do not lose endurance points for melee or ranged combat.
 4. Characters are not subject to skill fumble effects beyond 2x ep loss.
 5. Characters are not subject to spell fumble effects beyond 2x sp loss.
 6. Characters are not charged gate taxes to enter cities.
 7. Characters can not have negative stat regeneration due to phobias.
 8. Characters will not receive stat modifiers for age.
 9. Characters will not empty their hands when wearing or removing armor.
