Bugrep

If you notice a bug in the game, make sure you report it using
the 'bug' command. If it is very serious (ie, a way to get free exp, gold,
eq or whatever), then also report it to an arch or admin if any are logged
in. Do your best to write the bug report in the same room (or as close
as possible) that the bug occurred.

By default, bug reports will go to the wizard in charge of the
world you're located in, or to set administrators for certain locations,
such as in guild halls or castles. When you can, however, it can be helpful

to deliberately direct the wizard responsible for the code that's producing

the error. If the bug isn't world-specific, check in 'help immortal
duties'
to see which wizard it should go to. If the bug is related to an item or
room in an area, and you know which wizard coded the item or area in
question, the bug report may be directed to them personally.

Do NOT use the bug command for typos, there's a 'typo' command for
that. Also, do NOT use 'bug' for ideas or suggestions. Use the idea command

for those, or news, or mail the appropriate wizard(s).

Here's an example of a good bug report:

When random resistance from bless armor spell (when casting on paladin
shield) is same as shield's mount, it _replaces_ bonus resistance on
shield raised for honor points. For example, I have 9% phys resistance
on shield, and when random res from bless armor is phys res I get 5%
    phys res instead of 9%

This report lists the symptoms and possible cause and is quite concise.
For comparison, here's an example of an unhelpful bug report:

got sens mind error and it says i shuold bug

The report lacks sufficient detail to track down the problem, particularly
if not sent from the place where the bug occurred. Try to be specific and
explain what you were doing and what may have caused the problem, where
possible.

This is an example of something that's not a bug rep at all:

Help donate list still says :
See also: HELP DONATE, HELP TASK POINTS, HELP DONATE FORM
    at the bottom. ^^^^^^^^^^^

This qualifies as a typo, not a bug. Use the appropriate command. The
following is another example:

reading the inscription doesn't tell me which stat is available here
to find this out, I have to look at the SPACE, which is less than
    realistic.

Since there's nothing wrong with the code in question, this qualifies as
an idea, not a bug. There's no problem with making a suggestion to the
wizard in question using the 'idea' command or mail, but it isn't cause
to use the 'bug' command.

Bug reports are displayed to all wizards currently online, and
should only be used to report problems in how something is(n't) working.
Also, some effort should ideally be taken to be courteous in a report,
reporting a problem instead of demanding immediate fixes. The wizards
are, after all, volunteers.

If the wizard which deals with the bug report feels that the bug
was serious enough, he or she can award a PE to the player who reported
it at his or her discretion.
